Vapour condensation

Home> Air> Vapour condensation

Vapours can also be condensed from a gas flow by means of cooling. The major advantage of vapour condensation is that unlimited influent concentrations can be treated safely. This is in contrast to all other treatment systems where excessively high influent concentrations can lead to poisoning (biological purification), self-ignition (activated carbon) or to explosion hazards (oxidative purification).

The disadvantage of vapour condensation, on the other hand, is the relatively high energy consumption necessary to reach sufficiently deep temperatures for a high return and the risk of moisture freezing on or in the heat exchangers.
